#PLOT Excuses


May 31st, 2012

My gym buddy could not make it, but I still visited my local Planet Fitness!

The reason my before photos are not uploaded is because I do not own editing software and I do not want you to see my messy house.  Yes, it is an excuse.  A big fat lousy excuse.  As a punishment I will upload TWO photos hopefully this weekend when my dad can help me.

This morning I had cottage cheese and a Lemon Larabar.  Unfortunately, for lunch, I had a chocolate chip cookie and a 1% milk.  It is hard to stay motivated when temptation is all around me.  It would be cool if I worked out enough at the gym to be able to eat "whatever I want", in moderation of course. ;)  Who says I can't have one chocolate chip cookie a day?

Tomorrow I am going to the library and will pick up some exercise DVDs, definitely an aerobics and maybe a yoga video?

This Journey Called #PLOT



May 30th, 2012

Today was the day!  I worked out for two hours at the gym.  I mixed it up between the elliptical, treadmill, and bike.  It was rough going at first, my body was rebelling big time.  Eventually I made it through and the workout became fun.  Having my own source of entertainment was definitely a plus.  My MP3 player has video capability, so I spent a majority of the time watching the PDS.  It would be awesome if Source Fed videos were on iTunes as well. *hint hint*  It would motivate me to stay on the elliptical.  One thing bringing me down: how the machines require me to cling to the heart rate monitor.  I want to swing my arms on the treadmill!  It also hurts my hands.  I don't know if this is carpal tunnel or tendinitis acting up.

My food intake was not enough for the amount of exercise.  I thought cottage cheese and blueberries would be a nutritious enough meal (with a few chips), but no.  After about an hour and a half into the routine, my body was becoming jittery.  The last few minutes my body felt weak.  Every move I made felt like slow motion.  While I am starving right now, I am also completely exhausted.  I don't know what to eat after a workout. *shrug*  Any suggestions?

Tomorrow the plan is to work out with a friend after work.  I don't know what she is in the mood for, but I hope to spend at least an hour at the gym.  Nothing is preventing me from staying if she wants to leave early...

Oh, almost forgot, I weighed myself today.  It's never a fun experience.  Especially since it's in a public area of the women's restroom/changing area, so I have to keep my clothes on.  It's been a debate to whether or not I feel comfortable posting my weight in a public fashion.  There will be a before picture today.  A picture is worth a thousand words.  Maybe instead of posting my weight, I will just say I wish to lose 12 lbs.

#PLOT Ahead


May 29th, 2012

Today I was not motivated to eat healthy at all.  This morning I had a bagel, egg, bacon, and cheese from Dunkin.  For lunch, I had fried chicken and a big chocolate chip cookie.  It was temptation all around me.  This is the one downfall to working at a grocery store, all the bad food is within arms reach.  My eyes were bigger than my stomach though.  I threw away what I could not finish.

I found another workout buddy!  It is easier to work out with a friend.  We are going on Thursday.  Tomorrow is my day.  I made a big batch of green tea for iced tea.  I'm going to add some grapefruit.  These two foods boost your metabolism.  I'm going to bring it to the gym and sweat!  The elliptical is my best friend.  I like to use the cardio setting on it and then walk using the fat burn setting on the treadmill.  Usually I work out for one hour, this time I'm going to shoot for two.  Bring it!

Yesterday was a tough day for trying to be healthy.  I ate a lot of food.  It was my graduation dinner.  We had grilled hamburgers, potato salad, watermelon, and chocolate cake for dessert.  Oh, and chips and soda...oops.

This week I am determined to visit the gym a few times and take my before picture.  It would probably be a good idea to set a goal date for the picture.  Wednesday I will take and post my before picture on here.  Eek!

#PLOT On


May 25th, 2012

Joe bought me an MP3 player!  It's a Sony one that can play videos too.  This will definitely help me at the gym.  Playing my own music, as opposed to listening to Ashlee Simpson's, "I Didn't Steal Your Boyfriend"?  YES, please.

Now I can listen to Switchfoot and Mumford and Sons and Foster the People!  It also lets me play the radio, whoo hoo!

The food journal is going well.  I notice I eat more when I'm stressed and jittery.  It's important for me to eat small things throughout the day, instead of waiting until I am famished, because then I "Eat all the things!"

The next thing on my list is to purchase a scale which will not break the bank.

I cannot bring myself to post a before picture.  It's too embarrassing.  Today on Dr. Oz he had people pose for a before photo and it was an emotional experience for them.  Everyone can look and make judgments.  Maybe I will work up the courage.  I am also torn in what I'm comfortable wearing.  While I wear a swimsuit to the beach, I don't want a picture posted on the internet.  Maybe a tank top and shorts?

#PLOT -ing Along

Of course.  Of course, my body decides to get sick the day after I decide to get healthy.  Good thing I am only tracking my old habits this week, not changing.  This morning I could not bring myself to eat breakfast.  5:30am is too early in my book for anything.  I ate about 9:15am, fruit and trail mix.  I started feeling really ill, my stomach hurt so bad, I thought I was going to hurl, then my head felt like someone was drilling in my right hemisphere.  Moving around made me feel woozy.  I almost lost my cookies on more than on occasion.  Work let me leave early, so I’m sitting on my couch eating saltines and drinking ginger ale.  The headache travelled to my left hemisphere, maybe I have a migraine?  Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow and find the motivation to take my “before” picture.
